Speech - Chlidren's Day or Chacha Nehru



Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

The great leader, Pandit Jawarlal Nehru was born on 14th November, 1889 at Allahabad. His father mr. Motilal Nehru was a successful lawyer. His mother mrs. Swarup rani was a very noble lady. Jawaharlal Nehru was born with  a silver spoon in his mouth.
He was sent to England at the age of  fifteen years. He studied there for seven years. Soon he became famous as a barrister. But he left practice. His great desire was to serve his country. He joined the congress and served the country. He fought for the country’s freedom. He went to jail several times. He was a true follower of Gandhiji.
He never cared for his comforts. He sacrificed  his whole life for his country. He was elected president of the Indian national congress many times. He was made first time prime minister of free India and held the office till his death.
He loved sports very much. He had a great love for children. He was known as Chacha Nehru. His birthday, which falls on 14th November, is celebrated as the children’s day.
He was a true servant of people. He wanted socialism in India. He worked day and night for the good of people. He was not only famous in India but the whole world loved him and respected him. He brought glory to India. India is proud of him.
