Speech – If I were a teacher

The teacher plays the key role in the working of a school. The success or failure of a school depends upon the the teacher. Teaching is a sacred profession. If a teacher teaches only a word to the learner, the  learner becomes the debtor towards the teacher for all his life long.

So, If I were the teacher of my school, I would introduce the following:

                An ideal teacher himself acts at first, on what he teaches to the students. An ideal Teacher teaches to the students by using some unique methods. He teaches with fun and love. He never beats and chides to the students. So I would try to become an ideal teacher.

I would make the games compulsory for all the students. The students would develop the habits of team-spirit, brotherhood, discipline and social service. They would also become healthy.

Literary education is incomplete without moral education. The students should not forget their ancient culture. I would speak in the morning assembly to impart moral education to all the students. The students should know their duty towards their neighbours, elders and society. Moral education would make the students true patriots. It would make them wiser, nobler, happier and better.

I know the fact very well that an ideal teacher is equal to the student’s mother and father. He is his friend, a guide and also an adviser. The students love and respect only the Teacher who knows his subject very well. And I know this also very well that the teachers main task is that he teaches to the learner so that the learner may become like him. He teaches all the virtues of life, so that the learner may overcome all the obstacles of life. Like a potter who beats to the pot from outside, but supports from inside. So as an ideal teacher I would act according to these facts.

I would teach to the students by using latest modern technological instruments on audio-visual base- like computer, projector and smart board on smart class, so that the students may understand properly and clearly.

I would start many kinds of clubs, associations and debating societies. I would develop my relations with the local leaders and seek their help in providing all facilities to the students. I shall prepare a team of students who will do social service and inculcate in them the habit of ‘each one – teach one.’

I shall maintain strict discipline in the school. I shall see that the students of my school must be sincere, punctual and disciplined.
