Essay on Politeness

Study the following essay on politeness.
Politeness
Courteous and gentle nature is the characteristic of politeness. The man who is polite is simple and  homely and  he can never be arrogant. He does not consider himself  important. Arrogance deprives a man of his mental peace, generosity, politeness and even humanity. That is why an arrogant and haughty person can not win people’s hearts. On the other hand a polite and courteous man can easily win people his side. All know that the branch of a tree bearing fruits bends own. Clouds without vapour are very high in the sky while vapour bearing clouds come near the earth and cause rains.
The ultimate truth is that the more a person is polite, the more he will succeed.  A polite man  influences others with his affection, persuasiveness and respect for them.
To be polite is very important. A polite person is always self-disciplined. Politeness and discipline are complementary to each other. Politeness gives self-satisfaction to a person. Some human virtues like generosity, sympathy, tolerance, endurance, spirit to serve other etc are the embellishments of a polite person. Person who have these qualities are respected in the society. They are the guiding  light stand  ideals in the society. you  can find this thing in the following inspiring incidents.
Once Vikramaditya was hunting with some of  his courtier. During the hunting they got separated  from one another. Vikramaditya saw a blind saint sitting under a tree. He asked the saint, “sadhu Maharaj, has anyone passed this way?” the saint said, “at first your servant passed this way, then the commander of your army passed by, after the commander your chief minister went after him.” Hearing such details from a blind man , Vikramaditya was astonished. He asked “Maharaj, without seeing these persons, How did you recognize their ranks? How do you know that I am a king?”
The saint said. “I recognized you and other persons from the language they used. At first your servant came and adressed me as ‘O, blind man’ then your commander came. He adressed me as ‘Surdas’the minister adressed me as ‘Surdasji’ and you addressed me as ‘Sadhu Maharaj’. The language a person uses shows his rank and prestige in the society.’
