Moral Story - The Wise Dyer

The Wise Dyer

Raman opened a small shop and started the work of dyeing clothes for the villagers. The villagers began praising his dyeing work. Gradually his shop became very famous. On listening Raman’s praising, a merchant of the village felt jealousy of him.
One day by taking a piece of cloth the merchant reached to Raman’s shop in order to disturb him. Entering to the gate he spoke in loud voice “Raman, please dye this cloth very well. I want to see  your skill. As I heard your praising very much, so I came to you”.
Raman asked to the merchant “In which color do you want to get this cloth dyed”?
The merchant replied “Actually, I do not have proper choice about color. But I don’t like green, yellow, white, red, orange, blue, violet, grey, and black colors. Did you understand”?
Raman replied “Yes, I have understood very well. I will surely dye your cloth with your favourite color.” By knowing the intention of the merchant Raman took the piece of the cloth from his hand.
Becoming happy the merchant asked to Raman “On what day shall I come to take the cloth back”?
Raman Put the cloth into the almirah, locked the door and replied to the merchant “You can come to take it back on any day excepting Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday”.
The merchant got tit for tat answer. His trick fell reversed on him. So he thought that It will be better to move slowly from his shop. After this incident the merchant never dared to enter into Raman’s shop in the future again.
