Why is Holi Festival Celebrated ?

The night before every Holi festival, the fire is burnt. It is called 'Holika Dahan'. The reason behind this is as follows:-

There was once a demon called Hiranya-kashyap, who was the king of the demons. His son Prahlad, however, worshipped Lord Vishnu. This made his father very angry since he wanted everyone to worship him alone. So he decided to kill Prahlad. He tried many times to do this. Once he tried to poison him but the poison turned to nectar in his mouth. He also tried to get elephants to run over him and poisonous snakes to bite him. But nothing ever happened to Prahlad. Finally, he asked his sister Holika to sit in a fire, with Prahlad on her lap. Holika had a special shawl wrapped around her which would protect her from the fire. However, the shawl flew off Holika wrapped itself around Prahlad, who was then saved, while Holika was burnt.

                So the night before every Holi, the fire is burnt to remember that night when good won over evil.

            For many years, we have been buying our basic items from the local store, usually referred to us by the ‘kirana’ shops. A common sight in India, kirana shops were places where we would get all items of our daily needs. As the Indian population increased and as technology advanced, kirana shops gave way to ‘supermarkets’, ‘grocery stores’ and the latest, ‘shopping malls’ and ‘hyper-city’.

Why should we celebrate Eco-friendly Diwali !

My dear friends first of all I would like to tell you that Eco-friendly Diwali means environment-friendly Diwali or nature-friendly Diwali. Like Eco-friendly is the marketing claim referring to goods and services, laws, guidelines, and policies, that inflict reduced, or minimal, or no harm upon ecosystems or the environment. Some companies use these ambiguous terms to promote goods and services, sometimes with additional, more specific certifications, such as Eco-labels. Their general use as euphemisms can be referred to as green washing.

HARDWORK AND SUCCESS

DICTIONARY is only place where

END comes before START.

EVENING comes before MORNING.

EXAM comes before STUDY.

DIVORCE comes before MARRIAGE.

CHILD comes before PARENT.

RESULT comes before TEST.

DESTINATION comes before STRUGGLE.

DINNER comes before LUNCH.

DOCTOR comes before FEVER.

DEATH comes before LIFE.

But one thing comes exactly and that is

SUCCESS which comes after HARD WORK.
