Speech on The Great man





Mahatma Gandhi

Honorable sir and all my dear friends I am speaking something about Mahatma Gandhi.

Introduction - It goes without saying to you that India is a land of great heroes and saints. Mahatma Gandhi was one of them. Dear friends, Mahatmatma Gandhi’s full name was Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was born on 2nd October 1869 at Porbandar in  Gujrat. He went to school at the age of seven years.

His Family -
Now dear friends, I am giving you a brief description about his family. Mr. Karamchand Gandhi was his father.  His father was the Diwan of Rajkot. Mrs. Putlibai Gandhi was his mother. His mother was a religious minded lady. He was married to Kastoorba at the early age of  thirteen years.
His Works –
Dear friends, here I would like to throw a light upon his great works. After high school education Mahatma Gandhi went to England for higher education. He became a barrister and returned to India. He went to South Africa for a case. When he saw that Indians were treated badly, he tried to improve their condition.
Friends, He returned to India and made a tour. He decided to free India from the British rule. He fought for India’s freedom. He started a Non-Violent Revolt, the Swadeshi Movement and the Quit India Movement. He went to jail many times to free India, and dear friends, I would like to inform you that he tried his best to unite the Hindus and the Muslims, and friends, he also tried to improve the condition of the Harijans. He also tried to establish the “Ramrajya”. He loved all people. He wore Khadi. He never spoke lie in his life. He lived a simple life. He followed the path of Truth and Non-violence (Ahinsa).
Conclusion –
My dear friends the conclusion  is that Mahatma Gandhi was a kind, gentle and noble man by nature. The people of India loved him and called him ‘Bapu’. He is the father of our nation. He was one of the world’s greatest men. He gave us many ideals and his ideals are like lights to guide us in the hours of darkness. My dear friends, Although he is no alive today, but his good thoughts and ideas are still alive. His name will remain through times. My dear friends, at the end I would like to convey my message that we must follow his good thoughts and ideas.
