The saddest day of
my life
Life is a
mixture of joys and tears. There are more sorrows than pleasures in human life.
However, I didn’t use to believe over this fact. The 25th December
1990 was the saddest day of my life. A number of sad events took place on that
day. It was the blackest and most sorrowful day of my life.
It was the Christmas day. I had invited a few of my friends to dinner. I got up early and
had my bath. Then I made up my mind to go to the market and arrange for the
snacks and sweets. Just then I heard a knock at my door. As soon as, I opened
the door, I saw my aunt. She was profusely perspiring and was in tears. She told
me that my uncle had been bitten by a cobra and had been admitted to willingdon
hospital. There was no time to ask her anything more, and I quickly accompanied
her to the hospital.
I connected the
doctors and came to know that my uncle was in coma and was still not out of
danger. The doctors asked me to bring a few injections, syringes and capsules.
I rushed to manage them and returned after half an hour. There was still
another shock for me and the whole my family. I found my younger brother
waiting for me. He was almost speechless with sorrow. With a broken voice he
told me that our only uncle is no remained alive in the world now. I was wild
with grief. I returned home and found the whole family wailing. I started
thinking in my mind that there are more sorrows than pleasures in human life.
