An essay on Computer
Introduction :- In this era of
technology computer has very much importance. We can say that without computer
today’s modern technology is nothing. Today computer is playing a vital roll in
our life. There is no any place, where there is no computer today. Using
computer is not our luxury, it is not our comfort but in this age using computer has become our necessity. It is a very
wonderful, useful very powerful and
magical machine. Today this miraculous machine has brought a new change and a
new revolution in human life. It has changed our life style also.
Devices of computer :- Computer has
many parts like monitor, key board, mouse, speaker, CPU etc. The full form of CPU
is Central Processing Unit. CPU has
a processor chip, which performs faster
process than human mind. We can
say that monitor is computer’s face, keyboard is the leg of computer, mouse is
computer’s hand, and CPU is the brain of computer. The other parts of computer
are RAM, hard disk, cd drive mother board etc. The full form of RAM is random
eccess memory. RAM is a short term memory while hard disk is a long term memory
storage disk. Through key board, and mouse we insert our commands into
computer, so these devices are called input devices, while mouse, and speaker
give out us the results, so these devices are called output devices.
Advantages of computer :- Today
computer is used in many fields like in the field of business, banking,
traveling, education, agriculture, medical etc. Today we can see computer in
schools, hospitals, airports, banks, offices, shops and factories etc. We can
compose our articles in computer, we can book our traveling tickets through
computer, computer can design our products. We can maintain our business stock
and accounts by the help of computer. Computer can predict us about the
weather. By the help of internet we can contact to any person of the world
sitting at our home. We can do online shopping from the any corner of the world
without going anywhere. Internet has connected the world together. We can learn our lessons online sitting at our home.
Computer helps doctors in performing the operations. Computer performs many
tasks like television, telephone, radio, camera, watch, compositor etc. We can say that computer is a multipurpose device. Computer is reducing and solving
our problems and it is enhancing the opportunities of job and employment day by
day.
Disadvantages of computer :- As
everything has some dark sides as computer also. Terrorists misuse of computer by
sending menacing emails. They misuse of computer’s google earth software. Our
private accounts, bank accounts, photos and videos may be misused by the
hackers. Children play games in computer and waste their time and money. Most
people are wasting their time and money by watching movies, songs etc in
computer. By reducing our physical
labour and hard work this machine is
affecting badly over our health. Computer may spoil our eyes also.
Conclusion :- Although computer has
some disadvantages, but we must see towards computer’s bright aspects, because
these disadvantages are not because of computer, but because of user. To take
any machine’s advantages or disadvantages depends upon the user. We must not misuse of this miraculous
machine, but we must take the best use of it. Computer is not the inventor
of human mind, but human mind invented computer. At the end we can conclude
that computer is a good servant, but it
is a bad master.
